Getting set for vintage 2015 (sorry #V15) and it looks like a 7th of February bounce down. Got some exciting numbers on the card:
The Istrian is back and will come in a little leaner than last year but we’ll be looking to keep the phenolic backbone and fruit this year. Production should be in the 100 cases mark. Feature photo is the Malvasia itself, taken by Tennille Chalmers (insta; @tennillechalmers)
The Garganola is back and better than ever. Looking at 180 cases. Can’t wait for the Garganega in particular. It is such pure, delicious fruit.
Making a vermentino this year which has been an ambition for a while. We’re aiming for a textural style but with an acid zing, true to some of those funky italian numbers that leak into the country.
A razz, trying a two card trick on this, making a partially carbonic style with a savoury underbelly. Can it be done! Damn straight. Get excited!
