The Gymkata Syrah is made from the pristine fruit grown by Russell Browne of Quarry Ridge, Kilmore VIC. This year was an extremely attenuated growing season, with harvest through into June. Every year this fruit shows consistent pepper and red berry. A long cold soak pre-ferment, long natural ferment and a 10 day post-ferment maceration provides excellent colour and tannin. Due to the cool nature of the year this wine only tips in at 11% yet still has nice body and roundness, just less headaches!
